- What is an inverter generator and how is it different from a regular portable generator?
An inverter generator inverts DC power to AC power by the use of an electronic microprocessor. A regular generator converts DC to AC by using brushes to deliver the power to the rotor/stator so it can be converted. Invertors create a cleaner AC power output.
- Can my generator light on fire or explode?

- What kind of cords should I use for my portable generator?
You can use power cords with your generator but make sure that they are in good shape. That means that they have the proper grounds and are not frayed or damaged in any way. Any cord that has exposed wire should be discarded.

You can ground your generator by using a copper rod, spiking it into the ground and tying your rod to the frame of your generator with a copper wire. It is recommended that you do this if possible.
